William Cook acquires Bonds Precision Castings
The William Cook group is pleased to announce the addition of Bonds Precision Castings to its extensive foundry-based industrial organisation.

William Cook group chairman Sir Andrew Cook said "The addition of the Alston foundry completes the range of steel and high-alloy casting processes we can offer. Cook PCC offers unique expertise and skills in a highly exacting area of foundry technology. We look forward to building on this to secure the long-term future of the Alston plant, its experienced management and its highly skilled employees."
The William Cook group has manufacturing facilities throughout the north of England serving the defence, rail and energy sectors. It employs approximately 700 people and has annual sales of c. £100 million.
Rob Yorke, owner and managing director of the Teescraft Group, added "We are pleased Cook PCC Ltd, part of the William Cook group, has purchased Bonds Castings Limited. The Teescraft group purchased Bonds a little over five years ago out of administration and has since rebuilt the company, which now supplies castings all over the world. This is testament to the management team and shop floor personnel we have in place, all of whom are local. The foundry, which has operated in Alston since 1947, has a great future under the William Cook group, and we wish them well for the future".
