The Chesterfield-based steel foundry will continue to operate as a subsidiary of the group’s William Cook Cast Products division. Its products for mining and mechanical engineering will complement the group’s existing offering to the defence, rail and energy sectors.
Chris Seymour, Group Managing Director at William Cook, said: “We are delighted that we’ve managed to work with the joint administrators to complete the purchase of the majority of HIQ’s business and assets. We now look forward to stabilising the business, utilising the resources of the William Cook group and working with HIQ’s employees who will be key to future growth and profitability.”
The acquisition increases the number of William Cook manufacturing sites to five, and adds 76 employees to the group’s workforce.
